Looks like it sometimes she has drooled but I didn’t think of since of my big hens drooled when drinking water and she’s still here aswell.

Does the chicken have a bad odor from the beak? Canker (histomonas) is a protozoan infection from pigeons, and apparently it smells bad. Wet fowl pox and thrush (fungus) apparently do not have that bad odor, but may cause yellow or whitish plaques inside the beak. For treatment of canker, metronidazole (sold as Fish Zole online) can treat it, and ronidazole for pigeons online, may also treat it. Some use acidified copper sulfate in the water 3 days a month (1/4 tsp per gallon) as a preventative for canker. You can buy that online at Jefferspet.

Her mouth smells like feed since what she ate. Is there any possibility I could find any metronidazole medication in a Walgreens, CVS or Walmart. Since I want to get it as soon as possible. Is it fatal at her current state?

She’s eating normally and drinking and gaping but it’s understandable since it’s 87 degrees but they have electrolytes and ice on their water. Some of the others are gaping as well not only her

Tried looking for threads but couldn’t find much info about the meds needed or how to administer it all the other hens mouth 4 more have their mouths clean
