Emma the D'uccle stole the shows at the fair this year!

Our sweet little D'uccle caught the eye of both judges and some of the fine chicken people that have raised birds for years. People were amazed to hear that she was a bought at a feed store bin.

Emma won Best of her Breed and Best bantam on Tuesday in the Open Class Show and Best Bantam and Best of Show today in the 4-H show.

The judge is willing to help us locate a quality D'uccle rooster to breed with her. This means, if we get one, that Rusty must go.

Here is Celeste (in her BYC shirt) and her trophies. The ribbons are wrong.. one was supposed to be pink.. and we have the pink one now. One ribbon was for the best dozen eggs and the pink was for Reserve Best in Egg production class. She laso won a trophy for Beginners Showmanship.

We had a few comments on our shirts today. One guy even stopped me and said that he had already told my daughter that he loved her shirt. hmm... he must have known we were related because of the matching BYC shirt! hee hee!!

I also met a fellow member that is in our 4-H club, but she says she hasn't been on in a while but loves this site!

I wish I was in the 4-H. What are the age limits?? LOL. By the way, I can see why she won, such a pretty bird!!
