They work if something is touching it on either side. Such as a letter or another emoji.

Honestly at this point I dont care about the other two emojis but my poor salute guy needs to stop being chopped in half

Does the same thing to me. It will not post them.
It allows me to find them in the BYC emoji and put them in the typing box but when I press the post reply button to takes them away.
