Emotes and smilies

I know this is going to sound like a stupid question, but where is everyone getting those cute lil animated smilies? Are they in the message page where you type or is there a website that gives the codes for these? Just curious and thanks in advance!

underneath when you are doing a message it says

Also to the right of were you post a message you'll see Smiles [show] [hide] click on show. Just be sure to place a space between your words and the smilies or it won't show right.

You can use the preview to see if it took.
