Emu and Peacocks

Hello New to BYC,

I have two Peacocks (male and female) and am interested in raising EMU. I have a large aviary that the Peacock live in, and wanted to know if anyone knew if EMU and Peafowl could live together in the same area. All the help is much appreciated.

No, they can't. Emus need much larger areas to run and exercise and they will stomp and kill other poultry.

I am wanting to get some emus and was wondering what can you feed them i have like cattle creep feed and all mash and rabbit feed because I have a lot of animals and was wanting to add a few emus........what do I need to feed them and what is the least amount the fence height can be and how high can an emu jump.

pelleted poultry type feed ( if you can't find ratite formulated feed ) for emus over 2 months .
A grown emu can clear a five foot fence, 6 foot fence is advisable and no barb wire, ever.
non climb non welded horse fence works well, it has " give" for when the birds hit it .
