Emu Chick - Boy or Girl?? Opinions please....... by feather pattern!

Hi all,

I've recently adopted two emu chicks and was just looking for some opinions/guesses on their sex?? I understand feather pattern sexing is inconsistent and plan to get them DNA tested when they grow a bit older - but would appreciate any thoughts at this stage... even just for naming...! TIA!

I've included one picture of the top of each chick's head (let me know if a different angle is needed!) & one picture of both chicks enjoying some time in some in the sun

You've answered your own question. DNA or wait until they are of breeding age...only then will you know for sure unless you can find someone who is well versed at vent sexing. Please don't try that yourself if you don't know how to do it !
