Day 35 for wiggle/whistle.What is the earliest I can start looking for signs in these eggs? Tomorrow is day 20, is it like 28 days or so that they start wiggling? What about tilting, when do you guys usually start noticing that?
Oh fun! I have a stethoscope too, I'll have to try it in a couple weeks.Day 35 for wiggle/whistle.
I used my stethoscope around day 30 and could here them wiggling/scratching in there tho
I'm not sure how obvious the lean should be. I'm having a hard time telling.I can usually see a lean by 20 days. Not always an indication, but I like to think it is. I can see some wiggles around day 28. I never hear any whistling until they are internally pipped in the last few days.
Mine are wiggling like crazy and the lean is leveling out now as the are preparing to hatch in the next few days. Very exciting.
Are yours leaning yet @MGG ?
I'm just catching up but my two adult emus are nice - especially the male. He hatched four eggs last January and I hand raised them then returned them to him when it warmed up and he took over for a couple of months. They were delightful - I sold them at about 5 months old but they'd come when I whistled. Adorable boogers!I hope not, I've heard artificially hatched and brooded ones turn out nicer. But we'll see. I think even if I'm lucky only one will hatch but you never know.
Hi, I've seen you around reading through old emu threads quite a bit lately! I've also talked to Pyxis some and read her articles and threads. There is so much great information on here, it's been really helpful. That's so cute! I'm really hoping these two are fertile and hatchI'm just catching up but my two adult emus are nice - especially the male.
