Emu nest found

the latest egg turned out to be soft egg, which is not unsual for a emu to produce during her first laying season. She must have known that this egg was not not quite right when she was laying it because it was found at least 30 feet from the active nest.

E S Emus .....How strange ! Did the shell get harder later ? must have been laid prematurly.
I had another egg this morning, good old Rosie

And yes, Calla, Rosie's egg is a particuarly nice colour.

All Rosie's egg were this colour from 1st laid, 3rd season now, must be the good food and extra veggie they get daily and lots of attention and cuddles...lol

Yes there are lots of Emus in UK and have been for many years. I think they are mostly kept as Pets....and Yes all mine are Pets and get really pampered. They all love this.
