Emu pair not getting along

This is one of the 'home-team' birds, a female just starting her third year. She is taxing tiny unripe plums from the old orchard.

And just a few feet away is a wild chick who has been following the two young home-team females around for weeks:

It will score plums when the parrots knock them down -- but that's months away. Meanwhile, this chick is to short to reach the tiny plums.
