This is my simple set up, started with an old goat pen & shed, turned the shed into the coop by adding doors & enclosing window openings with 1/4" hardware cloth, then added the 4 x 4 x 10 "junior" pen for my chicks, then had the BIG run built, it's 14 x 30 & attaches to coop. Coop is 5 x 16.

Very nice, The Lazy L...what type of wire did you use, and how expensive is it?

3' x 100' 1/2" welded hardware cloth, 19 gage. I did a web search and found a "special" a 50% off and free shipping. 4/2012 I paid $119.58

Here's my coop and run. It works great for my 6 little bantams, but definitely isn't up to par with the other amazing coops and runs posted on this thread

The run is made from some heavy duty garden panels I just zip tied together. Under the playhouse is 6x6, the extended run is 4x6. I plan to eventually cover the part that juts out from the rest, but not going to worry about it right now since it stays completely dry under the house (unless the rain is blowing in sideways, in which case they'd just stay inside for the day).

Here's ours. We build it last summer and its working well.

We've had this coop with it's enclosed run for 3 winters now. I've covered the top with a strong tarp, protection from the snow, rain and full sun. Sand covers the cement pad.
