Curious what people use for the ground covering of their enclosures? We have grass that we have to mow. I feel like we should clean it regularly, too- with all the poop etc. Would love to know different ways people keep the areas clean. Thanks!

We mow and rake.

Nice looking run. Right now, I've got 3 blues in a 10x10 stall which is one of 5 in a lean-to. Half the stall is in deep liter and the other half in pasture grass. I built this in a pasture. After the last two stalls are completed, I'll start on the flight pen. This will be 48x48. My intention is to keep the blues in the stall for at least 3 months and then let them into the flight pen during the day. Your picture got me thinking about the grass in the flight pen. I hope I won't have to mow it but I'm going to change my plans a little and include a door large enough to allow the zero turn in.

Looking forward to other responses.

Here is an idea for you. In the first pic is the way I install my gates, in the rest of the pics is how I hung the same type of gate to allow my ZTR to enter. This flight is still under construction but it will have the top net on and birds in it by the end of the week.

That’s beautiful! You don’t have a problem with other pests/predators sneaking through the holes at the gate?
