Encouraging/improving habitat for wild turkeys

I have wild turkeys around. But up at 32
200-4200feet they are a fewer than the valley floor.

I have some tick pressure, and would prefer to have more turkeys.

I don’t intend to feed them.

I intend to build a few smallish ponds - couple thousand gallons up near the top. I know that will attract grouse. Not sure about turkeys.

I have built swales.

I have planted native berry bushes.

I intend to build some pasture on each shelf.

Any ideas, I realize wild turkeys are not the “same” as domestic. But I bet a lot of folks here can offer good ideas.

Check with your local G&F biologist or DNR agent. They should be able to offer the advice that you are seeking. Water and food availability are the primary needs.
