My garden was flooded this year!! A few tomatoes made it. I usually have a pantry full of tomatoes and veggies and I didn't even get my canner down it was that bad!!

Here is a great recipe for green tomatos. Slice them and mix with sliced yams, onion, and garlic. Cover with olive oil. salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 40 min at 375 or until yams are soft. Add walnuts and dried cranberries. Serve over rice or cous cous.

All I did was continue to feed and water and it came back from that to this...

I am going to try some hierloom tomato varieties for 2009.
Also for blossom end rot add calcium to your soil. You can't add too much, I normally add pelletized lime. Also I add greensand, it is full of minerals.

THis is new to me... thanks for the info...do you ever have trouble with weed seeds in the hay??? I may try it next spring...
