Ended up with 10 chicks now I need to re-think our coop

So we ended up with 10 chicks, not sure what they are (breed or sex) but I think we are going to have to re-think what type of coop and size.

I was thinking 4'x6'x5.5' with a run of 4'x6'x5' (both W x L x H) with at least 3 nesting boxes and roosts. Will this be big enough?? I know that we will have to get rid of a few of them, especially any roosters, may keep 1 (????).

It is going to be a 'A' frame I beleive and we have to build a new rabbit hutch onto one side or back of the coop. The coop and the rabbit cage will stand off the ground by maybe 2' to 2.5'. Our yard between our house and our apartment/garage is only about 39' in length (+/-).

Imput please!!! Suggestions are welcome.

i'm going to try to use pallets if i can

otherwise i'm going to try to use standard lumber/plywood sizes to minimize cuts.

are you in a cold climate? if your birds are going to be inside alot during the colder months, you may want to consider a larger coop.

We are in VA, the lowest the temps usually get in the winter are about 22* and if there is a windchill, it can get down to -4* but that hasn't happened in a while.

They will probably be inside in the winter I guess when there is snow on the ground, other than that they will be out, unless if is really cold.

I know, and my husband won't have his first week off work until the last week of April then he has to work another week (first week of May) then off the second week of May, we have the weekend too, but it is going to be tough. My son and I will try to work on as much as possible during the time that my husband is not off work.

I am going to go later today to get some stuff to start staking out the erea, wish my tiller were working, I would dig up where it is going to go (kinda hilly) need to level it some. It has been raining so much here the ground is just soaked, I guess I could just dig it all up with a hoe and spade, did our garden like that when we first moved here, but it is fairly small.
