My 6 day old Silkie chick suddenly started CRYING incessantly and when I went to look she was laying down screaming with her head turned upside down. They can't stand up, they can't move except to cry and seem to have no sense of up from down. Should I cull? Whats worse is they were with only one other chick Who is CRYING for their friend. The chick is quiet now that I placed them in my bra for warmth (Shush pervs) so I don't know if they're actually in pain or just very scared right now. They can't lift their head still though.

Mostly though it just seems like their neck muscles are weak. She drinks when I offer it from a dropper. Chirps no problem. Tries to shake her head and succeeds a little. She just can't lift her head up.

and lord I hope the CVS carries that. So much.

Walmart has it for sure, just bought some. Our Rite-Aid had no idea what I wanted. Good luck.

Why or why is the chicken feed that we buy not fortified with the vitamins that these little babies need? And what would a mother hen be feeding her babies that we not? It is so frustrating.

I hops she is ok, such a cutie.

Get some Vitamin E capsules and cut the end off of it-squeeze some into her beak(just a bit). Vitamin E/PolyViSol(w/o iron), Selenium/B Vitamins have worked wonders on my sisters Silkies with wry neck.
She has had some that were really in bad shape and it has gotten them right as rain.
Good luck to you!
