I have five chicks that came home 4 days ago. Four look about 1 week old and one looks 2-3 weeks old. Unless they’re asleep, they are chirping.

I’ve googled this incessantly:
1. They have unlimited access to medicated chick food.
2. They have a heating plate they pile under to sleep, but otherwise they seem to enjoy playing on the chick toys I provided.
3. They have unlimited access to fresh water.
4. They have healthy looking poops and are all bright and curious. If I open the side of the coop, they come out and curiously check me out.

But they are still so LOUD…I worked from home on day 3 and people heard them on Zoom two rooms away.

Are they okay? Am I being paranoid?

When I brought mine home they were non- stop chirping too… all day long and very loud. At night I had to turn off all lights and cover up their brooder and say SHHHHHHHH real loud and they would quiet down. 😂😂😂
They are now 12 weeks and outside in the run. They are no longer constantly vocal. So thankful! 😆 Constant baby chirping doesn’t mean unhappy though. Maybe put on soft music or outdoor sounds during your meetings. See if that helps. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh I can’t wait to try music (Whitney Houston!) on these chicks

also reggae works too! I just remembered today.

I'm thinking a combination of bored and wanting to see the human. Obviously you can't be with them 24/7, so some tough love is going to be needed here. For the boredom factor, I like to go out to the yard and break off a branch from a random bush/tree that has leaves on it. Initially they will be confused, but they will come to really enjoy eating the random leaves you bring them.

I love this idea! They can get started on my bamboo stand….
