Hi, I'm new on the site, from Loughborough England.

We're new to keeping chickens, we have 6 wynadotte bantams (including a cockerel, 2 miniature silkies and a full size light Sussex and Maran (our first ones, named Salt and Pepper).

One of the partridge wynadottes is sitting on a clutch of eggs and our white silkie has now gone broody too. Kids (and me) are super excited about having chicks (they're due next Tuesday).

Im from Bristol. I have 2 white sussex (Clarissa & Cluckles), a speckled sussex(Charlotte), 3 white silkie hens(Stubs, Scrambles & Sally) and two roos (the roos will be going friday although i doubt much meat is on them although they have fattened up ALOT) Sally went broody so I took in two chicks that was a week old from a school that was watching them grow but couldnt keep them any longer and gave them to Sally to look after. I was a little worried as the chicks was older than day old but I sat and watched them and they took to each other straight away know if I go near them Sally tells me off! The new chicks are red sex link Iv been told but not 100% they are now called Ginger and Babs.
They all live in our Anderson shelter which my dad converted into a coop with a run around the outside which they use on bad days, through the few good days they roam the garden which they love! :-D

Hampshire (hope-to-be) chicken keeper over here. Would love to try raising some Orpingtons, Wyandottes and Silkies among others (afraid the Wyandottes may be too noisy though and not just when laying...) Love the feather pattern of the silver and gold-laced varieties.
