I am getting a couple of English Lops. I have done a lot of research and figure I have most of what I need to know down.
BUT I would like opinions from people who have owned this breed. Particularily because after going back and forth about a couple of breeds, my daughter(age 17) would like to give a try at showing a EL.
We do plan on mainly having them as "house bunnies". Thanks in advance.

I LOVED mine I had when I was a teenager. He was HUGE and very laid back and mellow. He stayed inside and was litter box trained.

His favorite pose was to lay flat on the rug with his feet out behind him and my friends often would think he was fake.

Thank you! I have heard they are pretty laid back, thats a plus.

I have English Lops too! They do tend to me more layed back and very cuddly. I show, and from the show standpoint they can be challenging. The ears have to be just right, and it's hard to keep the ears from getting little rips on the edges from the rabbit's nails. I keep mine on a solid floor, not wire. I find it helps with the ears and also they don't seem to have a thick hair on the bottom of their feet. I keep their nails trimmed as well. I have a hard time getting mine to breed, too. I have tried just about everything and am getting to the point where I would cook a candlelight dinner for them!

Thats good to know! My daughter is wanting to show these and I MIGHT get into it, I havent really decided. Like I said, ours will be house rabbits. I love the look of them and it sounds as if I would enjoy the personality as well.
