English Springer Spaniel digestion issues

That food isn’t grain free, the main ingredients are salmon, barley, canola meal, rice, and oats. For that price you could be getting better to be honest. It’s not unheard of for dogs to develop sensitivities to food but it could be something else. I would still suggest switching.

Agreed, there are actually a lot of grains in that. Just because it doesn’t contain wheat, doesn’t mean it’s “grain-free”. I feed my Brittany Spaniel a salmon and potato/vegetable food. I checked the ingredients over and it has no grains in it. There is alfalfa and flaxseed in it, but technically those aren’t actually grains. We’ve been feeding this to her for many years and she has never has issues besides the occasional time she gets a bit sick or if she eats grass. Her poops are always really solid and she has endless energy. It also keeps her coat really soft and smooth. About $35 a bag and it lasts at least 1-2 months. Here is what the bag looks like:

Hopefully your Springer will be able to get better. Check for worms as others have said, try switching her diet and of course bring her to the vet. If you want her to be able to run free, you could consider mowing down all of the long grass she likes to eat.

Two of my dogs get blue buffalo’s freedom line(chicken), the third gets wellness core(reduced fat). They get so full on it that the amount they eat easily balances the price. I’d love to feed even better but feeding three dogs is expensive. The above choices (PC nutrition first included) is basically as good as dry kibble gets for varying prices.
OP, check out dogfoodadvisor.com and search up some foods. Find something in your budget and try it out.

Purina of ANY kind is bad. Try something like Origen, Acana, or Victor(I feed this). I have seen videos of people pulling live maggots out of brand new non-expired bags of Purina Pro plan. Purina is good for livestock IMO, just not dogs.

Funny, but the idea of my dogs eating maggots isn't all that horrible. It's better than chicken poop or cow poop.

Huh. I knew it was gluten-free and just presumed it was grain-free.

She had AI a few months ago, but it didn't take.

I’d agree maggots themselves aren’t the worst, but it doesn’t speak well for their quality control.
