(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I'm not new to chickens. my family first got them around when I was born I think, my mom mostly took care of them before she couldn't. we ended up getting rid of them to save there lives. the two who survived the racoon attacks and where sent away lived with our grandparents for a while (two years?) then when I was nine or ten we got a batch of chicks renovated our coop for safety and got the two back.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
fifteen excluding chicks.
(3) What breeds do you have?
crossbreeds, Black Astrolorps, Black Cochins, a white one, a golden Campine and others
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
just trying to help our birds when bad things happened. many results for chiken related issues pop up with a link here.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
disappearing for hours on end, gardening, READING.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a dog and cat, every so often I get a wild rodent, snake or other.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I've known about it for years. I finally decided to join because I was sick of not being able to say something like, "yo, give the guy antibiotics." also I hate watching my birds have problems I cant help with, its going to be nice to have somewhere to turn when things get messy with the birds health.
