I have tried many times to give my ladies watermelon on hot days. They just turn their beaks up at it! They hate corn and strawberries too. Weird birds

I fed out treats of winter squash, watermelon, cantaloupe and tomatoes this year, all with seeds... Chickens ate their fill and pooped out the rest... I now have a garden growing in over half of the yard. I sure do love my gardeners! (chickens) P.S. The squash is doing the best.

Hold watermelon up to your ear and knock on it. If it sounds hollow, it's ripe.
