One of my six hens has quite a large crop that sort of hangs down in front of her. She lays sporadically. The vet can find nothing wrong. The other hens do not peck on her.

I feed Layena crumbles. Treats in summer are oatmeal flakes (cooling grain) with meal worms and some watermelon and/or lettuce. Treats in winter substitute Purina scratch grains for oatmeal.

Nearly every day the girls are out for free range time in my smallish backyard.

QUESTION - can I feed something that might help the crop to shrink?

I am unaware of anything that can be fed to reduce the size of your hen's crop. It may just be a genetic difference in your hen that she has an enlarged crop. If the vet can find nothing wrong with your hen and she is healthy and happy, then I say you are doing what needs to be done.
