ENORMOUS egg????

Hi, one of my barred rocks gave us an enormous egg yesterday....it is about two and a half times the size of the normal. Why and is it (and she) ok? She seems to be but just want to be sure.....

Was it a double yolk egg?
That happens, and there is nothing to worry about.
Sometimes I will just get an enormous egg. I am tempted to see what would hatch out. Goliath chicken.

My BSL has given me two of those so far. I'm assuming (I haven't eaten them yet) that they are double yolkers. Hasn't hurt her any; she still puts out an egg every day.

My BR have been laying for a couple weeks, and have produced a few of these, all double yolkers. It's my understanding that these are pretty common when laying first begins, as the machinery is sorting itself out. Enjoy!
