will this set up satisfy my three chickens? they are about 13 weeks old now and i want to make sure this is enough for them. they go in the coop to sleep at night all by themselves like big girls. should i add more enrichment? and what are some ideas? i throw out small amounts of variety’s of hay often for them to dig through as well . P.S i will add DIY nesting boxes when it gets closer to them laying eggs, i hope that’s ok for them

They should have a place to dustbathe. I use a kiddie pool filled with sand/dirt. They will like the perches, but chickens spend most of their time on the ground foraging (including scratching/digging in the litter for things to eat), sunbathing, and dustbathing.

i wanted to use kiddie pool but it won’t fit. i usually find them just dusting in the dirt but maybe i will get them something to dust in. thank you!!!!

I dug a hole under a raised coop (so protected from rain). The coop is raised high enough that the biggest bird in my flock (my mongrel marans) can stand up high under it and there is still 10cm of room above her. I filled that hole with dried herbs and sand and wood ash.

that’s awesome thank you

Also sprinkle dried herbs around. My chickens love that. They will probably just ignore everything else. My chickens love perching on the top of the coop but not the perches, the swings and everything else :barnie
