I have a dozen 6 week old black broilers mixed in with 30, 6 week old Cornish X and 1, 8 week old black jersey giant rooster. The jersey giant is destined to be one of our flock roosters, however; I mixed him in with the meat birds when he started picking on a couple smaller ameracauna pullets. I didn't think much of it when I did it, he was much bigger than the black broilers and I figured once the little pullets were a bit bigger I'd just mix him back in. Well, advance a couple of weeks and I can no longer tell him from the black broilers. Anybody have any ID tips so I don't end up with him in the freezer and a black broiler trying to rule my roost??? Thanks for any help.

Um, band his leg next time? :P Unfortunately, I am not familiar with either breed, but once you find him, get a band on him.

Yeah, once I find him I won't need a band. He'll be head honcho of a bunch of barred rocks and ameracaunas. Have plenty of bands around. Would have been nice to have used one!

well giants have yellow feet bottoms, not sure the color on your meaties feet bottoms. But he should also be smaller in the chest area and not weigh as much as a meatie would for the age. when I had meaties 3 yrs ago, they took forever to feather in around the belly and bottom, where a giant should do it faster
