my brooder is 8 x 8 feet and 16 inches high with poultry netting covering the top... Now that the chicks can jump and are really looking for something to do I tried some Spanish moss... I threw several clumps on top of the netting and man did these guys go crazy... they would just jump up there and grab a piece and then run all over the brooder with everyone else trying to snag a piece... before long they all figured out where it came from and it turned into a freeforall.... so funny...///Moe

I have given the birds lots of veggies from the garden. Some of the other members have said that they tie the veggies up high to create a more interesting "game" of it. Any of the green leafy veggies will work.

Ah! A typical game of chick keep away! They are to funny when they chase each other around like there's no tomorrow!

Once they reach about 5 or 6 wks. old, try throwing some meal worms into the brooder. They go nuts for them! Be sure to give them some grit with them though.
