Entire flock of sick chickens. :(

I went to the vet and I am waiting for the test results to come back in, I will probably know the exact type of infection that they have by Thursday or friday. Unfortunately the vet says he believes they have something that is going to stay with them for life and make them carriers. I can not keep carrier chickens, I had way too many plans to add new hens and turkey, plus the area I'm moving to has many chicken farms in the area and I don't want my chickens bringing disease to my neighbors. I am upset at giving up my flock, my parents will take 12 of the 16 but only keep them until they stop laying after that they will be put down except 3 that my parents will keep for pets. That means I have to euthanize 4 this coming week because if I keep them longer it's just going to hurt me more when I send them to the big garden in the sky. My parents will keep Tylan or Liquamycin around for secondary infections so I know they will live out fairly happy lives, but it sucks my coop will be empty and because I'm moving within the year it won't be until next year or possibly 2015 until I can start over. It will take time and finances to build a new coop on the new property and fence in the yard they will be staying in. Ugh I don't want to be chickenless

There is a slim tiny itty bitty chance they have something that won't make them carriers but it would take a miracle for it to be that. I really hope I get blessed with a miracle.

If you have to eliminate your flock and you decide you would like some hatching eggs I would send you some if you just pay the shipping. Could send speckled sussex and maybe a few partridge rock if you want. I know it sucks to lose an entire flock:(

I'm touched thats an extremely kind offer, I need to find out what my living situation will be but I may take you up on the offer. <3 you warm my heart.

UPDATE
the results are in it's ILT, The state department came in and looked at my chickens, unfortunately I was at work and if they called me it did not go through, so I don't really know what's going on. My 76 yr old grandmother wasn't making much sense when she tried to tell me about it. She said the State DE said they could not leave the property until killed or until they got better? I dont' know, does anyone else know about ILT or have chickens that have it? Did they get better? Did you have to kill them?

I'm sorry your birds have Infectious Laryngotracheitis (ILT.) It is a viral disease, therefore antibiotics are useless. I recommend that you cull your birds. Here's a link regarding ILT if you care to read about it:
