I'm wondering why you have a wood floor at all, unless its a raised coop???

Additionally, its both caustic and corrosive - the high ammonia content and dry urates - its why deep litter on bare ground is such a popular management method, and part of why good ventilation is always critical in the hen house - to move moist, ammonia laden air out quickly.
