I just found white specks in my chickens poop. I saw the specks moving slowly and, I researched and I found out I am dealing with tapeworm. I have equimax because I read it was the best treatment for all tapeworms. However, I can’t find the correct dosage. I have attached a picture of the exact package I bought of equimax. Could someone tell me the correct dosage for my chickens? Thanks!

Get a free 1 ml syringe without a needle from your local pharmacy or Walmart pharmacy. Dosage of Equimax is 0.033 ml per pound or 0.16 ml for a 5 pound chicken given orally. Repeat that in 10-14 days.
Edited dosage.

Also, you only may need to give it to the one that has those tapeworm segments in her poop. Tapeworms are in some insects and earthworms. If the chicken eats one of those insects, they will get tapeworms. So all of your chickens may not have them. Of course, you can worm them all if you want to.

You’re welcome. I hope that along with preventing contact with any intermediate hosts (eating slugs, snail, beetles, grasshoppers, flies, worms, or contaminated droppings, that contain the tapeworm eggs,) the wormer will help to control the tapeworms.

Appreciate this thread, especially nice to have brand and dose.

Wondering, do y'all manage to hold their heads & squirt into beak, or put it on food or in water? What works best for this? Any tips appreciated.

Oh! Also wondering if Equimax handles other types of common worms besides tapeworms?

Thanks!
