You better believe it, campers, SE is no longer observing. But the air is moist and cool now, so I can see much more than usual.

We learned last year that certain behaviours are 'pre-nesting.' Well . . . I think maybe, just possible, early days yet . . .

maybe Eric and Mrs Eric gonna breed here.

She isn't vocalising at night, which suggests they aren't gonna breed here -- but there have been mysteriously few birds about of late.

But I saw at touch of what might have been the standing-about-in-the-gums-staring-at-the-ground thing yesterday.

Please keep us posted! I know I've said it before, but I love reading about 'your' birds.

Well , Haida, Eric and Mrs are still both here. And so is another lovely breeding-pair. No animosity. Lots of lilly pilly berries -- Yummy for Emus.

Don't know what's goin' on -- but it is winter, so we may ask when/if they're gonna move on.

Here is a wild breeding-pair grazing on the extra juicy grass behind the old sheep yards. They have been in orbit for some time. Under the lilly pilly tree this morning.

And while intrepid half-blind old guy with camera is sneaking up on them, Eric and Mrs Noo-Eric are plodding along behind, hoping for more wheat.
