I also vote for tight 1/2" hardware cloth. It will keep both sizes of weasels out + mink and even deter larger predators

Keep in mind Weasels and Mink eat a TON of mice and voles and chipmunks. Literally a ton of them. Plus small snakes. They do kill larger things but their day in day out food source are the things farmers want less of

Not a lot of weasels in my area, have never seen one. Surprised they can be killed by a rat trap, I thought they were bigger..

depends on the member of the weasel family, you go from least weasels the size of a mouse to the wolverine (same family)
