weare new at this we have a 4' fence they keep leaving our yard we want to free range we have rhode island reds and we dont know how can we keep them in

You're either going to have to clip their wings (there are many threads here on BYC on how to do that - I can't tell you because I've never done it), build a higher fence, or build them a covered run to be in.
