Yesterday a turkey from local turkey barn was brought to me, looks like it had been attacked over past couple days. Not sure if it is from animal or somehow squeezing thru truck in route to cull for ag.

Wondering what to give for pain and how to properly clean and wound care?
A couple good size gouges and scrapes with feathers gone on underside. Bruising and just plain bad looking

Wash the cuts out well, and apply neosporin. Trim feathers if needed. I don't know what kind of pain dose. Maybe a baby aspirin or two.

You can flush the wounds with saline solution and antibiotic ointment. Be warned though that these turkeys don't live a long life but I'm sure this one will enjoy just being a turkey.

The picture was within minutes of arriving, figured out to put water and food up at back level, didn't eat or drink yesterday only beak dips, but drank a lot today but no eating as far as I know

Yes, as she is a rescue, she actually made it to my neighbor who is a member here on backyard chickens, and she called to find out if I wanted to come pick it up and care for it. She suggested the same wound care and treatment. So we have a plan!

Since she's drinking water you can add powdered hand feeding formula for birds to it to give her extra calories.
