Not sure if this is the right place to put this....Just thought I'd share my excitement for the day...I had to spend the night over at my parents house due to a medical emergency last night. Doc told me to stay with someone so they could keep an eye on me...anyway, finally got up at 1 this afternoon (those meds they inject at the ER will do that to you!! LOL) and felt ok enough to walk across the field to my house. Went out back to get the bucket so I could get some scratch for the chickies and realized my female buff wasn't on the right side of the posts. She was on the outside of the back of the pen!!!
I quickly called the dogs and started BACK across the field to mom and dads so I could put the dogs inside their fence. Ran back over to my place and grabbed the bag of treats and started calling "Here chickie, chickie!" She wouldn't come. So I went behind the pen and sat the bag down, got a small handful of treats and had her come to me. Now, my chickies do not like to be picked up very much so I was really surprised when she came to me and let me pick her up with no problem. I put my arm around her body, holding her wings to her body and put my hand under her feet. You could have knocked me out with a feather (pun intended!! ) when she laid her head on my shoulder and started talking to me!!
I took her around to the front and opened the door, walked in and very gently set her on the ground. She stood up, looked at me, did a little noise and walked over to the others. It totally made my day!!
