There IS a BYCer with Lemon Blue Cochins...

Hang on a sec:

wwmicasa1 is the name of the member with them...

So unless you really want to do two steps - there's your ticket to the express route...

I may be getting some eggs from her in fall...

I saw some "lemon blue" cochins on a thread not too long ago that were not lemon blue. Not sure of the breeding, but the appearance doesn't match the variety description, so I doubt the breeding is correct for a real lemon blue. You should be able to get a correct lemon blue in at most 2 generations if you start with a real brown red. As Krys said, you may be able to do it in one.

I don't know that this is or isn't the breeder of those; no idea. I do know that a number of years ago I was misled about lemon blue in silkies. It's not fun to discover that you have been told a bunch of hogwash by someone who hadn't a clue. Ask questions.

Thanks so much for asking that question and to those of you who answered. I have been searching for this forever.
Does anyone know someone on here that sells brown red cochin eggs?

why dont u just buy lemon blues, or is it more fun establishing them yourself?

ETA: if you guys read my sig. line you will see all the cochin bantams i have, what do you guys think would be the most interesting to breed together?

Im gunna use my four white frizzles to try to get all the colors i have in frizzle, then try crossing some with others and see if i can get some pretty birds, but what would you guys reccomend

Onthespot, it is difficult to tell for certain whether your male is birchen; males of many e-alleles look similar. Do you know his parentage? I'm not sure one could tell by his wing triangle because mottling often gives white primaries. He does not look gold. He looks either het silver/gold or silver with another reddening gene.
