After taking on ownership of a couple Chocolate Turkeys, we weren't fully prepared for them. It's a long story how we came about them....so I'll spare you.

We don't want to keep the turkeys with the chickens and want to make their own area for running around, perching, sleeping and nesting. We do have our challenges with red foxes and one of our turkeys found out in a tough way. Our turkey hen was attacked, but luckily I stopped the attack from her being taken away or killed. I did have a $262 vet bill...but she's a part of our family and I had to get her fixed.

I've now built a 10'x8' steel shed, which I'd like to use for their sleeping and nesting area. I plan on building some perches inside of it as well.

I live in Central Virginia where our temperatures can get below 0 (rarely) and with heat indexes over 110. Our average weather, according to http://www.currentresults.com/Weather/Virginia/average-annual-temperatures.php says we are averaging between 68 degrees to a low of 45 degrees.

For those of you with better knowledge than I....shouldn't be heard....with building areas for your flock....please review the video and provide recommendations and your thoughts.
