Howdy,

I have an odd question and I'm not sure how to ask... sorta an ethical question about cleaning up feathers.

Soooo yeah.... Coyotes came in and killed my flock except for 1 girl. Now there is feathers in all my neighbors yards...... like a lot of feathers and no bodies. The question comes down to should I just leave my neighbors to deal with the feathers or not....? I'm really torn about it... I don't know if I would consider this like leaves falling on a lawn from the neighbors.... or fruit from a tree littering a lawn as well....

@chickenlotus So sorry to hear about your flock. We are glad that you joined, even under such sad circumstances.

I agree with @JedJackson - make an effort to clean up the feathers the best you can. Your neighbors may just pitch in and help:)

I am so sorry to hear about your flock. I would probably show up, supplies in hand, and ask if I could clean up the feathers from their yard. But I am in WI so there is good chance the feathers would blow away before I could get my shoes on.

I agree that it would be a good idea to go and explain what happened and ask if they would like you to clear up, but certainly not go onto their property and do it without asking or even assume that they want you to do it. Offering is the neighbourly thing and going with the tools to accomplish the task if they wish it.
