Hello all! I'm new here and so excited to be with other chicken people! I have a flock of silkies and satins running a muck. They are so happy to share their fertile eggs I started selling on etsy. I was actually really enjoying myself and getting great feedback. I even got photos of the hatchlings. I was really feeling like, yup this is what I'm supposed to be doing!

Then etsy sent me an email about a month after my shop opened. They deactivated my listings and sent a long policy and regulations guide (which I did read before I even started selling).

They have my eggs lumped in with live and or endangered animals. Of course I've fired off my laundry list of complaints. Like they have other egg sellers, food sellers who use eggs, and that they even advertised my eggs and earned extra money from those ads, I didn't ask for.

So here I am, pouting and waiting for some response from them with a explanation in detail of why I can't sell but others continue.

I know it could be something as simple as a wrong tag word etc. And that other sites like fb have animal rules. But my balloon feels deflated. Boooo.

Has anyone ever had issues like this w Etsy. Or anyone really understand their regulations enough to tell me why others are still listed and I'm sitting here whining?

Who wouldn't want a mini me of this gal! Look at that squishy little face!

I'm sorry this happened. I have not sold with Esty, but sometimes sites find a keyword that is wrong in your description, or they think you're false advertizing, and you get shut down. Which is totally lame because.... Look at that squishy face!

Thank you for the help so quick!

Here is the cut and paste of my listings (still deactivated by etsy).

12 Silkie/Satin unwashed fertile hatching eggs from sweet mama's! My flock is free ranging and a healthy, happy family. Ladies choice on eggs. I raise bearded and non bearded Silkies and Satins. The ladies colors are Partridge, White and Black. My Roosters are Black, White Bearded, and White Non Bearded.

I carefully pack and ship USPS. I will do my absolute best packing your hatching eggs. Once mailed, I am not responsible or give replacements due to mailing issues. Which is why I package carefully.

I am currently working with Blue, Splash, and Buff and will have eggs ready in Fall 2021!

And the pic is of all my tags I have for the listing.

Geesh! I really hope it's not a "competitor" that would be incredibly sad! There is enough love for all chicken egg sellers!

the problem is once one is deactivated I can imagine it's a pain to get reactivated. And the person who will have deactivated it will be in charge of checking thousands of profile a day. They won't have the time to analyse each listing. They will skim over it and read, lovely black and white chickens - BANNED.

If it was me I would add a disclaimer (for said person checking) stating:

"IN LINE WITH ETSY'S RULES & GUIDELINES I DO NOT SEND LIVE ANIMALS. THIS LISTING IS FOR 6 FRESHLY LAID EGGS ONLY"

It was most definetely someone looking at the pictures of the hatched chicks and reporting this. Some people are so stupid.

can you not carry on selling on ebay in the meantime?
