Eucalyptus branches for perches

Hello, is it okay to use Eucalyptus branches, de-barked, in our coop for perches? I have access to some really nice ones at my work ams would like to use these instead of 2x4s and dowels.

I think it would depend on the diameter.

Keep the bark on! Otherwise the surface is too smooth and slippery for them to hold on.
