You are hilarious. I laughed aloud.

Maybe that's it!
There is a German NH thread, but I haven't ever posted over there. I'm just over here with the EO peeps I know.

BTW I broke down and candled. (No pips, no harm.

) Anyway, the one egg I candled had pipped into the air cell, so they are just taking their time. We did have a power outage last week, so that might be the cause.

I give up trying to be home for my hatches. For the EOs, I took off day 21 and they all hatched on day 20. (All my hatches have been on day 20 up until now - for the EO hatch, I adjusted the temps down half a degree and thought they would hatch later as a result - nope.) For this, I hurried up and set them on the Monday they came in so that I would be home on day 20...

Yay! Sending good hatching vibes your way.

I rehomed my 2 white chicks, although I may get one back if it turns out to be a roo. Honestly these chicks are as hard to sex as delawares are - although I keep reminding myself they are only 3weeks.

Three GNH chicks out and 3 more pips at the moment! I am so relieved.

Thanks for your advice about moving the chicks out with the EcoGlow, Ron. I moved them out to a 4x4 with a nice-sized run with the EcoGlow yesterday. They loved it!!! They went out into the run today and had an awesome time scratching in the leaves, digging up some worms, and eating the little sprouts coming up in that pen since its been unoccupied for a few months. I'll need to get some pictures soon - they are so healthy, handsome, and happy. I might be looking at one white male (green), one strongly barred and probably homozygous male (yellow), and it may be that my gray one (orange) is a girl... the other two have larger combs and a more roo-ish stance. Hmmm. I think they are all just beautiful and bold... loving the EOs so far.

YAY! thanks for the update. I'm very excited for you. Glad you are home in time to watch them hatch.

The EOs are a lot of fun. I think they are having a good influence on some of my other chicks too. The Welsummers and one of the Orpingtons are getting friendlier and easier to catch.

go chickies!!!

Thanks!!! I have 4 now, and 3 more pips.

I'm glad they waited until I got home - I resent missing hatches for being at work!

I have one Brown Leghorn chick with my EOs. I have no idea how flighty they usually are, but this one is still pretty standoff-ish. I can only imagine what he would be like without them! I'm glad your other chicks are getting friendlier. If I had an Orpington, I would want to snuggle it.

They look so fluffy!

i have been following this thread for a little while now. i have 7 EO, down from the original 11, i sold 4 to help offset some of the costs. i kept 5 pullets and 2 roos. these are not the best pics, they move around a lot! they are very bold, constantly peck at my toes, "talk a lot" and chase wild birds out of my yard. LOVE THEM!!!!!!!! they are about 12 weeks or so.
