Are you caponizing yourself?

I knew this sentence looked odd when I wrote it. Sorry!

Maggiesdad, did you take a class? I am talking with a woman now who is taking a class to learn this and the idea of the chicken just laying there for this seems surreal to me. I wonder if they should offer this at divorce mediations??

No, I just read the threads here on BYC (in meat birds) and studied the anatomy, placement and topography of the cockerels that I have been processing.

Just like everything else, it's all in knowing how + practice...

A BYC members husband here in CA is practicing the Capon process on Cockerels they process.

What a great idea!

Just got my first 2 Marraduna Basque...both a very spoiled and friendly cockerels. I will be getting about 6 (maybe more) pullets in July. I have been a die hard owner of a small flock of Brahmas for awhile and playing with the different color variations. And then I saw my first Basque and LOVED the temperament and color. I guess I will have to start taking pictures of my feathered brats and post them.

Just got my first 3 Sebastopol goslings too

I have been toying with the idea of adding a few geese to my farm for a few years now...I laid eyes on those beauties and just knew it was the right one for my little farm! After searching from coast to coast for them (availability seemed impossible this year) I found these less than 2 hours from me

I guess I will have to participate more on this site now...lol
