Guess what? I cracked open a fertile Basque egg today! I can officially start collecting for the incubator!

This is very exciting! One of two eggs were fertile so I don't expect good results right away. In the next couple days they should both be laying fertile eggs

That is very exciting! Hopefully your eggs are packed in a good manner. The ones we had shipped came to us in the Skyline method of packing. We had an 80% hatch rate. The Basque are easy hatchers!

Anyone have a well started breeder quality cockerel they want to sell? I lost mine to sudden death yesterday and my other boys are all very young. I am in Sacramento area of CA.

All my sudden deaths seem to be caused by a fox this year.

I have one but he has a carnation comb (Kings comb). I am in Novato, about 2 hours from Sacramento.
