I hatched them from Ron Fogelly's flock. They are an F3 project. I have arranged to get more in January and they will be F4s and should be even better looking. There is a lot of interest in them here in California. On person wants to use them in a RhodeBar project.

I thought I had a Basque on the bottom of the pecking order, but it was the mutant wheaten Ameraucana!
Mine are in with a bunch of olive eggers, the "Ameraucana" and one French blue Marans, all from the same hatch. An olive egger is top dog. She is almost mean, and I have a suspicion who her mother is (I lost track of who was who very early on). One went broody as soon as she could lay and is still sitting in this colder weather. I have a suspicion who her mother is too  .

I would theorize that the friendlier Basques, since they are laid back, are lower on the pecking order, but I know that isn't true because of what others are saying.

I've noticed that my Basques are the lowest on the totem pole (pecking order). Both my roosters are always getting beat up and the two Basque girls are always the first to summit to the roosters. They are so sweet though. : )

mine seem to hold their own pretty well. They are not aggressive to others, but certainly not submissive.

Wait until they have been together a year.

Yours are a year old? I thought the hatching eggs were from pullets that had just started laying?

I have 23 week old Heritage RIR pullets that are bigger than any of my other chickens. They are on the bottom now, but watch out next year.

Gorgeous!

I've got babies in the brooder again - hatched from eggs from James. I even have a few cute Langshans jumping around in there. I wanted to hatch now so I'd have a few more pullets laying in spring. I just love new chicks! :D

My pullets are not top of the pecking order. I would say my oldest is the EO lowest and my other went broody so she is not really in the pecking order right now.
My Orpingtons are top for sure. I had a welsummer cockerel who wanted to be top, but my EO was top and my other EO cockerel was lowest.

My broody EO has been amazing. She is a great mom.

Ron,
these are really great birds. I've been trying desperately (and not so successfully) to get my hands on some. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Brice
