Just chiming in to say hello to all. Currently building my first coop and run and will be looking for plenty of advice thru the process. We will be getting our first chicks this weekend and will appreciate all feedback for the questions we will surely have

Welcome!

As you have already received links to some great starting points, I will just wish you all the best.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock or coop build, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

So we got back from getting the chicks and ended up with the following:

3- Americauna
3- Black sex link
4- White leghorn (pullets)
2- Production reds
4- Bantam silky

Everything except the leghorns are straight runs.

A friend is telling us to keep an eye on the bantams as they may pick on the others but it currently seems to be the other way around. Also appears i may have a pasty butt case going on. Letting em settle in a bit before i delve into that one...
