Has anybody had a problem with squirrels killing baby chicks? I had seen alot of squirrels and then later in the day I had a chick turn up missing, it was last Wednesday and I haven't had a problem so far since. Whatever it was fit thru one inch poultry nettling or climbed up the coop and went thru the whole in the roof of the run and killed it in the run, I've since closed the whole.

I was just curious since I saw a squirrel. I know red squirrels kill and eat baby rabbits on occasion so Idk if grays did the same.

Squirrels do eat meat. During their nesting season its pretty common for them to snatch baby birds from their nests for extra protein so they can feed their own young. It could be them, or rats if you've got them, snakes, birds of prey, coons, everything likes chicken for dinner. Good luck!

Yes they eat meat.

Its funny cuz that's what was left just a few feathers and one intestine and I haven't had, so far, an incident since.
