Ever have an "I'm an idiot" moment?

I've lost about 20 things today Most of which I found in my bedroom where I'd looked multiple times.

Oh, then a few nights ago I woke up and found myself ramming my head against my bedroom wall and mumbling random stuff. My dog looked at me like you idiot.

I spent all last week baking dinner rolls for a church function on Sunday. One of the last batches I made I did something so careless and stupid I cried bc I thought I must have Alzheimer's! I had a pan of rolls rising on the stove, covered with a sheet of plastic wrap so they wouldn't dry out. When they were ready to bake I put them in the oven - and forgot to remove the plastic! When I took them out, I thought, What is this? They looked like a squid or a jellyfish had exploded all over the top of them! I started pulling this stuff off of them and it was like rubber cement. I could not figure out what it was! Then my GC asked me if they had had plastic wrap on top of them, and could I have forgotten to remove it? I have not felt that stupid in a very long time!

I have them all the time. Last night I made my Brother take an IQ test with me and I scored a point higher than him and so when we were cleaning up dinner (he was doing dishes while I put all the food away) I was jokingly bragging that I'm smarter and later I realized I put a tupperware full of spaghetti in a random drawer where we keep the cups . I'll never live that down lol

Reminds me of the time, I was eating oatmeal in a room at work and was called to an emergency. I placed the oatmeal bowl in a drawer and forgot about it. We didn't find it until a deep clean about a week later. Thank goodness I had eaten most of it, so there wasn't any mold. Just dried on oatmeal.

Mostly I just go to do something, wind up doing something else, come back from where I went to do the 1st thing and remember I need to go and do what I went there to do in the 1st place.

Yet another "talent" of mine...If I start something- I get side tracked 50 times before the first thing ever gets done. It all gets done- just takes me longer and its a hot mess until then.

Example- I need to deep clean the kitchen, hey this cupboard is messy I should clean this- and wait, this don't belong here I should change things around- where did all these towels come from- maybe I should wash them- in comes laundry- open the cupboard for that and that gets ripped apart- wait the bathroom has room for this or that- move to the bathroom-the garbage is getting full, I need to empty every garbage in the house and get that ready for take out...it goes on and on and on and on and on...6-8 hours later everything is put back together and clean.

TRUST THE PROCESS...ITS A TALENT!!

I know that feeling. Sometimes I wake my husband, in the middle of the night, by shouting out an elusive word that I'd spent the day trying to remember.
