Yesterday I was cleaning up the porch and saw this shinny thing I went over to see what it was and it was Ebony's drake feather. I have always wondered what they look like up close. They are pretty cool looking I think.

They are so cool!!! I usually do art projects with my feathers but I think this time I'll just keep the drake feathers in my collection box

Goat_Walker~ I kept this feather too. It is on top of a shelf now for display right next to my chickens first eggs that I blew the yoke out of.

I have never found any until just recently. I guess having darker ducks has helped as I found 3 from a drake in the last week. I actually saw 1 fall out and picked it up straight away. I have all three diplayed together up on top of my TV. They are so facinating. I was thinking of framing them somehow.

I think they are just so neat the way they curl so perfect. I am going to be keeping am eye out from now on. I would love to figure some craft to make with them.

That is so neat! I love the drake feathers- will have to look out for them. I was looking at some of my girls up close today, and noticed they have stiff feathers on top of their tail similar to the drake feather, but they don't have a curl.
Ducks are endlessly fascinating!
I have a jar for the pretty grey-and-white striped feathers from my grey call drake.
