Took out the turner last night and candled (day 18). The eggs are Welsummer, so they are very dark, but it looks like most are at the right point in development!!! Come on babies!!! Hurry up!!!!!

One week to go!

Lisa - Well, it helps that I leave for work at 6:20am and don't get home until around 6:30pm or so, but it is still a long wait!!!! I'm curious to see how many actually hatch, since it's so hard to see anything when you candle dark brown eggs.

Justasnak - Good luck with your hatch!! We should be seeing pics from you next weekend!!!!! What are you hatching?

skeeter.....in my bator... I have 7 Cornishx/buff orp eggs. I know, we are not supposed to let cornishx live this long, but, on thing led to another, and we just didnt have the time to put them in the freezer, then, they started just acting sooo lovey...maybe they knew what thier destiny was to be? When I come in the coop, they waddle over to me, and lay on my feet...and just look up at me, wanting to be petted. Well....then they started laying eggs....and my Buff Roo is breeding them...so, I thought, what the heck! They are fertile.....growing fine in the eggs, and should be an interesting breed. Will know on the 7th...or there about. Hope your hatch goes well! Keep us udated!

Yippeeeeee!! 2 of my little ones have hatched. They are so cute!!! There are still several more that will hopefully be hatched by the time I get home tonight!!!

I'm so excited!!!!! I'll take pics when I get home tonight and try to post them on here.

Oh, I almost forgot - Justasnak, that sounds like a very interesting cross. Maybe you have discovered a new "super dual prupose" bird?? Can't wait to see what they look like, especially when they are all grown up!
