Lost most of my flock to a mink last Winter and the 8 hens I had left after the attack went to live with a friend and her flock until I could predator proof my set-up. I kept my young roo and put him in a safe dog crate at night.
Yesterday 4 of my girls came back home (3 more were killed by a mink at my friends house and one turned out to be a roo *sigh*).
My young (but mature) roo is thrilled to have the girls home and is being a real gentleman to them.
Things are going so well with the move that I have already gotten 4 eggs!
My friend sent me home with 12 eggs... so my 4 and her 12 are now in the incubator! My flock is on it's way back... I'm so happy!
