All I can say is the white giants will be easy to tell. They are dark gray, and should already have tiny little white wing feathers coming in when they arrive. Mine were pretty dark, but not as black as the australorps and black giants I've had. It was really fun to see the white feathers on those dark babies.

I'm jealous and excited for you! I want chickies!

The black australorps will look just like little penguins.

I am definitely on the polish bandwagon. I ordered two of my nine, and if they were better layers, I would have an entire flock of them. Mine are so personable and friendly.

Well I'm overflowing with excitement! We're working on building a new coop and run to house all these chickens (this will make 35!). They'll still brood in my barn...but the older hens will all be moving tomorrow and Saturday.

I expect the chicks will be here Sunday or Monday if I remember their shipping dates correctly.

The chicks finally arrived this morning. DH picked them up at 6 am from the PO. We usually get our MM orders on Sunday morning...so we knew yesterday that we'd have some DOAs.

Of course, the DOAs are my Silver Polish

I was SO looking forward to them.

So, here's the list:

2 Silver Polish - DOA
13 white chicks
1 white giant, pretty sure
1 buff Turken
1 light chipmunk
1 darker, reddish chipmunk
1 red chick (RIR? Red Star?)
1 Barred/Cuckoo chick
4 black either Lorps or Giants
4 Black Stars
1 darker grey MIGHT be crested

hope they threw in an extra polish but the crest isn't well defined

I ordered 28, got 30...so there's extras somewhere.

I will have pics later in the day

Really we were expecting a silent box...so I'm well pleased. Just wish my Polish hadn't been the expired chicks.

Darn it all...shipping stress is getting them. Have lost two more so far - a black star and one of the lorps/giants. Hope this stops soon! No wonder I liked hatching my own...altho this is the first time I've had trouble with shipped chicks, they were just in the mail too long.
